You asked, we answered.
The questions that come up before a trial, during one, and when the first invoice goes out.
Before you start
Does NexVolt decide what I charge?
No. You set your hourly rate, your markup, your per-service rates, your travel charge, and the premiums for job conditions like a concrete ceiling or after-hours work. Every number on a quote is calculated from rates you entered.
Is my pricing data private?
Yes. Your rates, markups, and quotes are only visible to users in your organization. No other contractor can see your pricing.
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. Your 14-day free trial starts with no card required. You only add a payment method when you're ready to subscribe, and you can cancel anytime.
What it does
What does the AI actually write?
Two things, and both are drafts you approve. The project summary on a quote, written from the services you picked and the notes you typed on site. And, on the Pro and Business plans, the email templates you ask it for, in English and Spanish. It also sorts your portfolio photos by service. It never sets or changes a price, and you can change any word before anything is sent.
Which services does NexVolt support?
All nine categories: Network Cabling, Rack Installation, Camera Cabling, Access Control, AV Wiring, Fiber Optic, Wi-Fi Access Points, Cable Certification, and As-Built Documentation. Terminations are included in the price of each cabling drop rather than quoted as their own line.
Can I add work that isn't on your list?
Yes. Add it once as a Custom Service in Rates, with your own name, unit and price, like conduit by the foot or a TV mount each. From then on it sits beside the nine built-in services on every quote.
Can I change a price on just one quote?
Yes. On the review step you can edit any line's quantity or price, add a one-off line, or move the whole quote up or down with the slider. Your saved rates stay as they are, and a price you typed comes back as typed when you reopen or revise the quote.
Does NexVolt work for solo contractors?
The Solo plan is one user with the full quoting engine, the quote request page, e-signature and invoicing. Nothing about the quote itself is held back for a higher plan.
From quote to paid
Do I have to remember to follow up?
No. Sending a quote creates the reminder for you, 3 days out, and an email each morning tells you what is due that day. You can switch it off in Company Profile if you would rather set your own.
Can my customer sign the quote online?
Yes. They sign in the browser, with no printing or scanning, and you are emailed the moment it is signed. Both of you keep the signed copy as a PDF.
How long is a quote good for?
As many days as you choose in Quote Terms, 30 to start, counted from the day you send it. A few days before it runs out the customer gets a reminder. After that they see a notice instead of the button to sign; resend it to start the clock again, or revise it to change the price.
Can I invoice and take payment in NexVolt?
Yes. A signed quote becomes an invoice without retyping, and that invoice carries a button that takes a card straight to your own bank account. You can also list check, bank transfer, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App or PayPal details for customers who would rather use them.
Do I have to use your payment processing?
No. Card payment is there if you want it, and the money goes to your own Stripe account rather than through us. If you would rather take a check, a bank transfer, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App or PayPal, fill in the ones you use and they print on the invoice instead. On the Solo plan NexVolt keeps 1% of each card payment, on top of Stripe's own fee; Team, Pro and Business pay no NexVolt fee. You can also send quotes and never turn invoicing on at all.
Can I quote recurring work like monitoring?
Yes, on Pro and Business. Set your Monthly Services in Rates, such as monitoring, maintenance or licensing. The quote shows them as their own monthly total, apart from the one-time price, so the customer sees both clearly. NexVolt doesn't bill them automatically each month: you invoice them when you choose.
Plans and billing
Is annual billing cheaper?
Yes. Paying annually gets you two months free versus monthly on every plan, and you can start on monthly and switch to annual any time.
Can I cancel anytime?
Cancel any time from Settings > Billing. You keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and nothing is charged after it.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, you can change plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing cycle.
What happens if I hit my seat limit?
You'll need to upgrade to a higher tier to add more users; on Business, contact us. Each seat is one unique login, and accounts cannot be shared between users.
